Memorial Day Special

Memorial Day weekend officially kicks off the summer rental season in Cape May and most shore resorts across the country. It's a fun time to be in Cape May and typically the restaurants and stores have all opened their doors, and there's a lot of beach and bar-b-que activity too.  

Memorial Day is also a time for giving thanks and respect to those in our armed forces that have made the ultimate sacrifice so we can enjoy our freedom. Cape May has always featured a beautiful ceremony that drops a wreath from a Coast Guard helicpoter into the sea. We highly recommend you share in this experience with your familiy and friends. And what a great moment to share with your kids. 

Bar-b-ques, sun and beach

We grew up experiencing the Memorial Day weekend with friends and family enjoying all this town has to offer. That included bar-b-ques on the back deck, big seafood feasts, home (hand cranked) ice cream, beach handball and clam throwing contests (Norris and Michael never lost),  and generally everyone helping out to make each experience a memory of a lifetime.    

Our Memorial Day Special: The Details

The Memorial Day weekend was such a great memory for our family, we've created a Longfellow House special so guests can get get the most bang out of their their Memorial day vacation holiday buck.  

Solving the scheduling problem  
Typically when families and friends coordinate a few night stay there are schedule conflicts. So we're offering a week's rental, over the Memorial Day holiday timing, for almost $1,000 less than our normal weekly pricing.

Timing
This Memorial Day special would run Tuesday to Tuesday so in addition to the extra time, you could also enjoy the actual Memorial Day holiday (Monday) without having to battle the traffic heading home. That alone can make a big difference for your end of vacation experience.

Super Value
Our special weekly rate is $1,950. For comparison, the normal weekly rate for Memorial Day is $2,900, so for a party of 12 our special rate works out to about $23 per night per person, saving close to $1,000 off the normal weekly rate. The weekly rate for this special is only $50 more than if you rented for our regular 4 night rate of $475 per night for the Memorial Day holiday.  This is a great opportunity to enjoy more of one of Cape May's most popular times, for less.

Patriot Path — this banner image was photographed at the Cove Beach. This big sand dune was there about 4 years ago, but the storms have since washed it away. I like how the fence, dune, sawgrass and flags create a beautiful, flowing scene.
