The view is from the Cove Beach looking towards Cape May Point and the St. Mary's by the Sea Nun Convent.
Click the image (below) to see a larger version and notice the three distinct layers of light; quite an unusual capture. The sun setting behind the clouds lights up the top sky as mid level clouds compress down on the the sun setting orange on the horizon. I was lucky to capture the lighthouse just as the rotation came around, a fun detail. This is one of my personal favorites and also one of my most popular Cape May images.
This photograph was featured as a cover image on the Longfellow House inaugural Cape May linen wall calendar and is currently available as a signature edition canvas print.
